The draft page, and the three decisions you can make on it

Every draft waits for your decision. Nothing publishes until you approve it.

Opening a draft

When a draft is ready, the dashboard's attention line says 1 thing needs you (or more). Click Read draft, or click the draft's title in the post list where it is marked awaiting you.

The draft page

Draft awaiting you. Three editable boxes: Title, Excerpt, and Post. Two buttons:

• Approve & publish: publishes exactly what is in the boxes, edits and all.
• Save edits, keep waiting: saves your changes; the draft stays pending.

Not this one. An optional one-line reason ("too dry, add the actual capacitor values") and one button:

• Reject and return the notes: discards the draft and puts its notes back in your queue, verbatim. The next drafting run can see your reason.

Quick approve

The dashboard's attention item also has Approve & publish, so you can publish without opening the draft. Open it if you want to read or edit first.

Things to know

• The address is fixed. The post's web address was set when the draft was made. Retitling changes the title only.
• One decision per draft. If two tabs decide the same draft at once, the second gets a conflict message. Refresh the dashboard.
• Approving rebuilds your site and records a git commit.
• Rejecting returns everything. All the notes that went into the draft come back.
