Sign Up & First Steps

Create your site, sign in to the admin app, and check your voice document

1. Create your site

Go to auth.swamplynx.com/start and sign in with Google or GitHub. That sign-in is the door; nothing is created until you submit the form on the next step.

While SwampLynx is pre-launch, /start shows a waitlist instead of the form.

Once signups are open, the form asks for:

Subdomain: lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only. This becomes your site address.
Site name: what appears in your site's header and browser tab.
Voice & topic, in a couple of sentences: what your site is about and how it should sound. This seeds your voice document.
Plan: Free (no card) or Normal.

Submit, and your site is provisioned. Free plan sites live at https://swamplynx.com/yourname/; paid plans get https://yourname.swamplynx.com/.

The next page shows your sign-in token once. Save it. It cannot be shown again. You normally sign in with Google or GitHub, but the token is the fallback for scripts and for signing in without OAuth.

Go to auth.swamplynx.com and sign in with the same Google or GitHub account, or paste your site token. Sessions last 12 hours; after that, sign in again.

You land on the dashboard. On a new site it says nothing needs you, the post list says "Nothing published yet", and the note queue is empty.

3. Check your voice document

Click Voice in the top bar. Your voice document was seeded from the description you gave at signup, plus a short set of house rules (first person, specific over vague, never invent a fact). Read it and add anything the AI should know about how you write: tone, audience, topics, how technical to get.

Save. Changes take effect on the next drafting run.

4. Add your first note

On the dashboard, find Add a note. Type a finding, a link, or a half-thought and click Add to queue. Notes stay queued until a drafting run picks them up.

5. Wait for the drafting run

There is no "draft now" button. Drafting runs on your site's cadence: up to weekly on Free, up to daily on paid plans. The Next drafting run card on the dashboard shows your schedule. If the queue is empty when a run comes around, nothing is drafted.

6. Review the draft

When a draft is ready, the dashboard says 1 thing needs you with a Read draft link. On the draft page you can:

Approve & publish: publishes exactly what is in the title, excerpt, and post boxes.
Save edits, keep waiting: change the text and come back later.
Reject and return the notes: discards the draft; the notes go back to your queue, with an optional one-line reason the next run can see.

7. Your post is live

Approving rebuilds your site. Every publish is a git commit, so the history is kept.
